Pete Lukas - Web Design & Graphic Design

I am a designer with 9 years experience in the web industry. Originally I trained as a graphic designer and illustrator using traditional media at Cambridge College Of Arts And Technology. After completing my studies I relocated to London where I worked in a freelance capacity and also taught graphic design on a government funded training scheme, this role also involved designing and printing leaflets, brochures and pamphlets. I also worked as an illustrator for a special effects company, this involved creating concepts for characters.

Since the late 90's, I have worked steadily as a web designer. My last permanent role was as senior web designer at Tesco.com, this involved everything from designing banners, weekly page refreshes, print design: magazine adverts, leaflets, in-store hanging boards, product photography, training and mentoring juniors, creating web guidelines, producing manuals to redesigning the whole site from the navigation onwards.

After going freelance 18 months ago, I have produced work for a broad range of clients, both on line and off line. To see examples go to 'latest work".

With my varied and long experience as a designer, I have the ability to tackle design from the point of liasing with the client regarding their specific requirements, to designing web pages and navigation in tandem with coders to create designs that are not only fresh and clean but adhere to web standards.

I work on either Mac or PC platforms and have the following software knowledge and skills:

Photoshop / Illustrator / Indesign / Dreamweaver / Flash / Microsoft Office Suite Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes / Interwoven Teamsite / Website Accessibility Standards / Search Engine Optimisation
